Coffee Stain Publishing and Lavapotion are excited to launch their pixel art turn-based strategy adventure Songs of Conquest on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles today!
Originally launched on Steam in May 2024 after 2 years in early access, Songs of Conquest follows in the footsteps of genre legends such as the Heroes of Might and Magic and Age of Wonders series, staying true to the kind of tactical gameplay and kingdom management that long-time strategy fans know and love. The game has four unique factions to choose from, each with their own attributes and lore-heavy campaigns to enjoy, along with both local multiplayer and online crossplay multiplayer for players to test their skills across an array of maps designed by both Lavapotion and the community.
To date, Songs of Conquest has exceeded 500,000 units sold, and is currently sitting at 86% Very Positive on Steam with over eight thousand reviews. The game isn’t done yet, either, with new content and updates planned for the future. Most recently, Lavapotion announced a major DLC titled ‘Vanir’ that will be coming in Winter 2024, introducing a mighty new faction inspired by Scandinavian folklore alongside new maps and hero units to control.
“It’s been a wild ride bringing Songs of Conquest to console, and we’re so excited for players to pick up a controller and try this version out themselves” said Carl Toftfelt, Lead Game Designer at Lavapotion. “Turn-based strategy games are typically thought of as PC games, but we surprised even ourselves the first time we tried an early port with how well the gameplay translated across. Today is the day things have finally come to fruition and we can’t wait to hear what both existing fans and new console players think!”
Songs of Conquest is out now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles for 33.99 EUR / 29.50 GBP / 34.99 USD.
